Biography

Koelliker was born in Pittsburg, California. As a young man, he was an LDS Church missionary in West Berlin, Germany. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Utah.

Koelliker and his wife, the former Freda Ann Neilson, are the parents of seven children.

Prior to becoming a general authority, Koelliker worked in several managerial positions for the LDS Church including serving as the managing director of the temple department from 1997 through 2005, thus being closely involved with the large increase in the number of temples during LDS Church President Gordon B.
